NEW: Clinique For Men

Is the man in your life neglecting to look after his skin? Or are you sick of him stealing all your skincare products?

Well luckily Clinique has him sorted, with their new Clinique For Men skincare line. Men want an easy, straight-forward skincare regime that does exactly what it claims to do. It has to be simple!

Clinique's skincare philosophy of cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise was created by the brand's founding dermatologist Dr. Norman Orentriech over 45 years ago - and this is the exact same principle they've brought to the Men's line.

All it takes is three simple steps to the healthiest skin he's ever had:

Step One: EXFOLIATE with Face Scrub - RRP $56.00

I know that my partner Ricky, loves stealing my face scrub - and I'm sure the man in your life is no different!
This is a non-greasy formula containing menthol, helping to keep skin feeling clean and refreshed while scrubbing away potential pore clogging dead skin, excessive oil and dirt. This can be used daily before Face Soap or Face Wash and is especially great to use before shaving as it helps lift out ingrown hairs - helping him to achieve a close, smooth shave.

Step Two: CLEANSE with Face Wash - RRP: $38.00

Finding a good cleanser for men can be a bit difficult, as they tend to have oilier skin than we do. That's also one of the reasons they age a lot slower though, so this isn't at all a bad thing!
The Face Wash is an oil-free liquid cleanser that lathers up nicely to remove all traces of pore-clogging dirt and debris. Great to use after the Face Scrub, and together they really help prep the skin for shaving. It also helps maintain skin's internal moisture balance so while the skin feels clean and smooth, it never feels tight or dry.

Step Three: MOISTURISE with new Moisturizing Lotion - RRP: $55.00

Moisturising is a step that a lot of men seem to skip, as I said above their skin can be a bit oilier than ours, so they seem to think they don't need it. But it's important to moisturise even when you have oily skin, as it can help stop your skin from producing excess sebum. And it's absolutely vital for those men that do have skin that's more on the dry side.
The new Moisturizing Lotion from Clinique provides all day hydration and strengthens the skin's moisture barrier to help retain hydration and relieve dryness. Apply after cleansing and smooth all over the face and neck.

The NEW Clinique For Men range also includes:

Aloe Shave Gel - RRP: $38.00
Oil Control Face Wash - RRP: $38.00 (perfect for the man who has excessively oily skin!)
Anti Age Moisturizer - RRP: $88.00

I think the shaving range in particular is a great idea for most men!

The Clinique For Men range is available at Clinique counters around New Zealand, make sure you pop in and check it out.

Review: Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser

Clear impurities and remove make-up gracefully with this dermatologically approved organic cleanser that is a true gift for sensitive skin conditions. Its blissfully soothing formulation features anti-inflammatory Vinanza Oxifend super-antioxidant, naturally extracted from pinot noir grapes from award-winning Marlborough vineyards. Nutrient-rich avocado oil and marigold flower gently yet effectively cleanse, freshen and soften your visage.

Antipodes is completely new to me and since I am always searching for a decent cleanser, I was thrilled when Health2000 asked me to review this.

You are all probably aware of the problems I have with my skin by now. It's oily and very sensitive. So sensitive in fact, that most 'sensitive' skincare products still irritate my face a lot. Trying to find a product that soothes my skin, whilst cleaning it effectively is no easy task, let me tell you!

Like most people, I have been brainwashed into thinking that you need a foaming cleanser in order for your skin to feel clean. I'm not gonna lie, this behaviour has resulted in a lot of irritations.

So finally I decided enough was enough, and starting trying cream cleansers. But until now, I had never discovered one that made my skin feel both incredibly soft, but also squeaky clean!

I have been using this religiously ever since I received it, and am amazed at how well it removes makeup. I'm also guilty of constantly touching my face straight afer using this - I am obsessed with how soft and smooth my skin feels!

Overall, I can't recommend this enough. It doesn't have any nasty smells, removes all impurities with no effort at all and it's even certified organic! What more could you want?

You can check it out here and let me assure you, you won't be disappointed!

Review: Lush Aqua Marina

Skin-softening cleanser. Aqua Marina is a calming, effective cleanser and a joy to use. Like a pink mousse wrapped in seaweed, it feels so soft and wobbly that you’ll want to play with it, rather than clean your face with it. Smooth it on, rinse it off and your face feels smooth, smells sweet and looks brighter. It has calamine and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin, especially when you’ve been caught by the sun or the wind. The kaolin cleanses deeply and tightens your skin a little.

My skin has a mind of its own. One minute it's dry and flaky, and the next it's ridiculously oily! The one thing that stays constant though, is the fact that it is always sensitive.

Because I'm so difficult, figuring out what works for me is always a bit of a mission. I can't even begin to tell you how many cleansers I've had to stop using and throw out because they've irritated my skin!

When I told Kendra at Lush Queen St, she suggested Aqua Marina for me straight away. Once she demonstrated it on my hand, I knew I had to try it out.

Unlike most other cleansers I've tried in the past, this one is pretty much solid. It seems a bit strange to work with at first, but when you add water it transforms into this smooth milky texture, which feels amazing.
I'm used to using cleansers that lather up, mainly because I feel like those clean my skin better. So I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about whether or not it would give me that same feeling of cleanliness.

To be honest, I am yet to find another cleanser that leaves my skin feeling this clean. At the same time it manages to calm down any irritations I might be having.
Did I mention that my skin has cleared up big time? Well it has! I have had hardly any breakouts since using this, and the dry patches on my face have almost completely vanished!

Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this. So much so, that I'm already on my second tub of it. If you have difficult skin like myself, I would highly recommend this to you. Check it out here.

What cleanser are you using??

Big hello to all my gorgeous followers! I’m in need of your advice!

My skin is getting really sensitive lately. I used to use the Clinique skincare range without any problems, but lately my skin has started reacting to it. It gets all red and hot and my usually oily t-zone area is now really dry. Have you had this happen to you??

I decided to switch to this, in the hope that it would help:

My skin has definitely calmed down a little since I started using this but I’ve noticed that sometimes my skin doesn’t feel very clean afterwards…

So now I’m on the hunt for another cleanser to try. Something that won’t irritate my skin and will leave it feeling clean and fresh. Do you have any suggestions? What do you use??
