Review: Purely Cosmetics
After telling her a bit about my skin tone and texture, she sent me the following foundation samples:
Olive Beige and Neutral Medium both match me pretty perfectly, which I am stoked about. My skin has always been hard to match because I'm quite fair, but do tan up quite a bit in summer.
I'm not a HUGE fan of mineral foundation, but these are actually really nice! When my skin is in good condition (no pimples!) then this has the perfect amount of coverage. Unfortunately on days like today when my skin has decided to break out, I find that I really need a bit more coverage than these can provide. In saying that, I've been having more good than bad skin days - so yay!
I also got this Yellow Color Corrector:
I have quite bad undereye circles, it's so annoying and hard for me to find a concealer that really does the trick of hiding them. This however, is magic. I swear it erases my undereye circles with ease! I'm quite amazed to be honest. LOVE it.
Oil Absorb and Silk & Pearl Powder Primer:
I use this Oil Absorb first, just in my t-zone because that's where I seem to get most oily throughout the day. I follow it with the Silk & Pearl powder primer, which I apply all over my face. I really like these! Provide the perfect base for the foundation - my face looks sooo smooth when I use these.
Pearlescent Blush in Blushing and Bronzer in Lightly Bronzed:
I have used the blush everytime I use the mineral foundation. I really like it, it's a very nice natural blush colour that would suit anyone with a fair skintone. It's quite pigmented too, so you only need a very small amount.
The bronzer I use to contour. It's the perfect colour for me, not too dark or too orange and is really nice as a contour.
Diamond Perfect Finish:
Diamonds are a girl's best friend! This is amazing. It is a beautiful, finely milled powder made from real diamonds!. Really nice as a setting powder, and feels so luxurious on the skin. A little goes a long way and it really gives a gorgeous airbrushed looking finish. If you can only afford to buy one product from Purely Cosmetics, it HAS to be this! You will not regret it. I seriously cannot recommend this enough, will be buying one as soon as this one is finished. Imagine how my clients will react when I say that I'm actually using diamonds on their skin!
Overall, I really enjoyed using the Purely Cosmetics products, it's a really beautiful line.
My favourites were definitely the Diamond Perfect Finish (duh!) and the Yellow Color Corrector. Check them out at http://www.purelycosmetics.com/, and discover how amazing these are for yourself.

Fyrinnae: What I ordered
Fyrinnae cosmetics are a vegan cosmetic company who have a wide range of pretty unique colours. I had been wanting to try Fyrinnae eyeshadows for quite some time so finally bit the bullet and placed an order! Along with the 6 eyeshadow samples I ordered, I also ordered a full size foundation (they don’t offer samples of this) and a small lip lustre. They also included a free sample of eyeshadow, yay for freebies! :D
First: OMGWTF Eyeshadow Sample
This is a bright, shimmery chartruese colour. Love the colour but do wish it was slightly more pigmented.
Next: Dragonskin Eyeshadow Sample
Dragonskin is a deep, vibrant, shimmery grass green colour with a hint of yellow. Really nice, I love it.
Next: Aztec Gold Eyeshadow Sample
Antique gold colour, that can look quite green in different lighting. Might end up buying the full size of this!
Next: Fujiro Free Sample
This is like a medium blue-violet colour with silver sparkles. It has a lavendar highlight. It doesn’t seem very pigmented to me, which is a shame because it’s quite a nice colour.
Next: Parental Advisory Sample
This is a shimmery royal purple. Really nice but I do wish it was a little brighter.
Next: Wicked Sample
This is a deep, dark purple that has a turquoise shimmer. I heard this makes a stunning eyeliner so I’m looking forward to using it as that. Such a gorgeous colour..
And the final eyeshadow: Lust Bunnies Sample
This is a vivid sparkling copper with silver glitter. Very pretty!
Now onto the foundation: Moonstone Mica-free Foundation - 6gram Size
I still have not tried this yet. It is for very fair skin and I’m thinking it could possibly be a bit too light. But we shall see!
And lastly, the lip lustre: Ryunome
This is A LOT brighter than it appears in this photo. It’s a gorgeous vibrant, shimmering turquoise. How cool is this? It’s actually the small, 3.5ml size which Fyrinnae no longer offer.. So if you want this you’ll have to buy the larger size!
Swatches time!
Top row, L-R: OMGWTF, Dragonskin, Aztec Gold, Fujiro
Bottom row, L-R: Parental Advisory, Wicked, Lust Bunnies
Ryunome:
Thanks for viewing! Keep a lookout for upcoming FOTDs using these products!

Mineral Foundations: I need some help!
I have never used a mineral foundation before. Mainly because I’m not sure about the different brands and because I’ve wondered about whether the coverage is actually any good or not.
I’m really quite pale and currently use MAC Face and Body in ‘C2’ and sometimes use Maybelline Wonder Finish in ‘Porcelain Ivory’. I’m looking for something that is great quality, preferably on the cheaper side and provides medium coverage.
So I thought I’d post this and ask for some help!
What are some brands that you love and would recommend?
Do they offer samples? Are they affordable? How long do they last?
What colour would you recommend for me? And most importantly, Do they ship internationally?
Any help that you guys could give me would be great, I’m so intrigued by mineral foundations and would love to be able to find one for me. As a makeup artist I get asked about mineral foundations a lot too, so it’d be great to know more about them!
Thanks!
