Review: Clairol Professional Curl Definer Range

Clairol Professional Curl Definer Shampoo and Conditioning Lotion are the ideal start to your haircare regime. Infused with ginger and olive leaf extract, this shampoo and conditioning duo work to provide bounce and define and enhance the flexibility of naturally curly locks.

I'm the first person to admit that my hair is a mess. The amount of damage I've caused to it over the years is ridiculous. I've done everything from dying it different colours, heat styling daily aka frying my hair with the GHD and worst of all chemical straightening! All because I've been led to believe that curly hair is gross. Well enough is enough!

It's time to embrace what I've got and start trying to take care of my natural curls! And what better way to start than by using a haircare range designed specifically for curly hair.

I have been using the Clairol Professional Curl Definer Shampoo, Conditioning Lotion and the Curls in Curl Mousse religiously for almost 3 weeks now, and I can already see a huge difference in both the look and feel of my hair. I can tell you right now, I'm hooked!

The Curl Definer Shampoo (RRP: $16.90) is infused with ginger and olive leaf extract and provides bounce and elasticity to both naturally curly and permed hair. I have been using this every time I wash my hair, and have found that you only need to use a small amount as this really lathers up! It feels really cleansing yet doesn't seem to strip your hair and leave it feeling dry. I'm not a huge fan of the scent, but then I never like the smell of products containing olive leaf extract. It tends to fade after awhile though, which is great!

After shampooing and towel drying my hair, I apply 1-2 pumps of the Curl Definer Conditioning Lotion (RRP: $16.90). Together with the shampoo, these are supposed to make the hair conditioned and manageable, with well defined, bouncy curls. All while reducing static and adding extra shine!
As this is a leave-in conditioner, it doesn't require washing out. Took me awhile to get used to using this instead of an in-shower conditioner but it does a really decent job at stopping my hair from looking frizzy, which is a big thing for me. In fact, this works so well that most days I don't do anything else to my hair, and it still looks good!

On days when I want a little more curl definition, I turn to my Curls in Curl Mousse (RRP: $23.50). This contains unique 3D Sculpt micro-polymers, which give flexibility, form and style by moulding and shaping your curls.
After shampooing and using the conditioning lotion, I smooth a small amount of this throughout my hair and then leave it to dry naturally. This is hands down, the best mousse I have ever used in my life! Not only does it create the most beautiful curls, but it leaves them feeling soft and not the slightest bit hard or "crunchy" - I am in love!

Here's a snap of my hair from the front after using all three products:

And from the back:

Overall, I am really surprised by how much I love this range and can't believe that I'm wearing my hair curly almost everyday now, after straightening it non stop for years. Even my boyfriend has noticed and said my hair is looking great - yay!
Would definitely recommend this range to fellow curly haired people, it will not disappoint!

Review: Pantene Beautiful Lengths

Split ends can lead to breakage, making hair growth difficult. Beautiful Lengths Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner fortifies against damage that leads to breakage so you can grow your hair longer.

When it comes to split ends, it’s safe to say that years of straightening and colouring my hair, have definitely caught up with me.
Once I finally decided to try and go back to my natural hair, I quickly realised that it was going to take a while to reverse the years of damage I had caused.

My hair used to go down to my waist (before I discovered the GHD!), and now it barely goes past my shoulders. I have been trying everything to get my hair to grow, but until now nothing has had any effect whatsoever.

I have been using the Beautiful Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner for a few weeks now, and not only does my hair actually feel much healthier than before, but I swear it has actually grown! I thought I was imagining it, but both my family and my partner have commented on it. Yay!

I’m definitely going to continue using this as I love the way it makes my hair feel, and if it’s helping it grow then that makes it a definite keeper! Make sure you head to your nearest supermarket and check out this fabulous range for yourself.

Review: Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo & Conditioner

I was lucky enough to receive the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner in my box of goodies from ImpactPR!
These have actually been a favourite of mine for a year or so now, and after using a range of other hair products, it was really nice to get back into using them again.

Most of you probably already know that my hair is a nightmare! It is naturally curly (2b-2c I think, for those of you familiar with curly hair!) and because it's so out of control all the time, I tend to damage the heck out of it with my hair dryer and straightener. Lately though, I've been wanting to embrace my natural curls a little more, which meant embarking on the huge mission of finding products that make my hair a little more manageable.

The silicone-free formula in the new Pantene Aqua Light shampoo contains groundbreaking water-soluble beads that rinse the hair from root to tip in seconds, leaving it feeling as light as a feather and beautifully nourished.

Those of you with curly hair, will know that silicones in shampoos are a big no no, which makes the Pantene Aqua Light shampoo perfect for us.
I love this shampoo because it makes my hair feel clean, moisturised and doesn't weigh it down! It also smells so good, I dunno what it is, but I love the smell of Pantene products.

Pantene has perfected the science of hair conditioning, with new Aqua Light. Unlike conventional, creamy conditioners, the new formula delivers just the right amount of hair nourishment without weighing it down and leaving it looking heavy. Aqua Light conditioner’s breakthrough Clean Rinse technology is highly water soluble and rinses off fast, leaving hair with no residue and no weight.

Unlike the shampoo, the Pantene Aqua Light Conditioner does actually contain a small amount of silicone. This doesn't really worry me too much, and still seems to work great on my hair. Again, I've noticed that it doesn't weigh my hair down, and leaves it feeling soft and nourished.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these to anyone with curly or unmanageable hair. Even my sister has jumped on the bandwagon with this one and swears that it is amazing for her straight, oily hair.
