The Best Lip Treatment In The World

Lucas Papaw Ointment!

products

Lucas Papaw Ointment is one of those ‘miracle balms’ similar to Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, but in my opinion it is FAR better.

For $9.99 NZD, you get a 25g tube which will honestly last you forever. It has this really nice light smell, which I love, because honestly that’s the one thing that bugged me the most about 8 Hour Cream – I can’t stand the smell of it!
I actually first bought this because a few friends had recommended it for my dry, cracked lips. I figured it would be like any other lip balm I had tried before, but nothing compares to this! It is so unbelievably moisturising, my lips have literally never been as soft as they are now. I can admit to being totally addicted to this now and really think everyone should check this stuff out, especially if like me, you’ve found it hard to get a decent lip treatment.

But of course, this is a miracle balm and has many other uses! It can be used as a topical application on:

  • Boils
  • Bruises
  • Burns
  • Chafings
  • Cuts
  • Cysts
  • Dry and cracked skin on hands and feet
  • Gravel rash
  • Heat rash
  • Insect stings
  • Mosquito bites
  • Open wounds
  • Pimples
  • Scalds
  • Sunburn
  • Swelling associated with injury
  • Splinters and thorns
  • Tinea
  • Whitlow
  • Nappy rash
  • Dermatitis and eczema – for temporary relief

I’ve also heard of people using it for coldsores, moisturising cuticles and as an eyebrow gel/gloss.

This stuff really is amazing and should definitely be a part of your first aid kit as well as your makeup bag!

Hope you’ve found this helpful!
And thanks for viewing!

MAC Colour Ready, Sugarsweet and Rose Romance Haul and Review!

I meant to do this a few days ago but the batteries in my camera died and I couldn’t find the charger to recharge them!
As you’ll see I didn’t buy much at all from these collections, I had been looking forward to them for some time, but when I saw them I got completely overwhelmed by everything and basically bought what I decided I couldn’t live without. I’m actually dying to go back and buy some more stuff now that I think about it…

Ok, from the Colour Ready Collection all I bought was this Penultimate Eyeliner in Rapidblack.

IMGP2842
Ahh. I am so in love with this eyeliner. I used it in my FOTD below and it’s fantastic. So easy to use, goes on really black and stays put. I want more of them. And I would definitely recommend this to everyone.
I really want that damn line filler too but it’s sold out at the moment, thank goodness it’s gonna be part of the MAC pro line!

From the Sugarsweet collection I bought Club eyeshadow

IMGP2849
Club is this muted reddish brown duo-chrome with green opalescent shimmer, it’s part of the permanent line which is why I bought it in refill form (much cheaper that way). I’m wearing it in the FOTD below and I love it! I would recommend this to everyone, it’s a great, versatile colour to have.

I also bought the Perfect Topping Mineralized Skinfinish from this collection

IMGP2838
Perfect topping is made up of pinks, peaches and lavenders. It is sooo pretty and was my favourite out of both of the MSF released with this collection. I’m also wearing this in the FOTD below, I love the look of it and if you like MSFs I would recommend getting this.

From the Rose Romance Collection I purchased the Blush Of Youth Beauty Powder

IMGP2839
How pretty is this? I love it! Blush Of Youth is a clean pink with a gold pearl. I tried this on in the store and had to get it. I just love the colour as well as the cute rose pattern. Not sure if it would show up well on darker skin, but it does show up nicely on my NC20 skin. :P

I also had to get the Summer Rose Beauty Powder

IMGP2840
Yes, I had to get both beauty powders… This is probably my favourite out of the two. It is a soft violet pink colour and is just gorgeous. It seems to be the more pigmented one of them both, I just love it. Definitely recommend this to everyone who doesn’t have it already! Damn NZ for not getting MAC collections sooner..

And finally from the Rose Romance Collection I couldn’t resist the Fix+ Rose

IMGP2843
Fix+ Rose is described as “An aqua-spritz of vitamins and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the scent of 100% natural rose water.”
I don’t have the original Fix+, so I decided to get this. The rose smell is pretty strong when you first spray it on but it seems to vanish almost immediately, which I find to be a good thing. It really does feel incredibly refreshing and I’m really glad I bought it. If you already have the original Fix+ then I’m pretty sure you don’t really need this. :P

I also grabbed a Lipgelee in Lilacrush

IMGP2841
Lilacrush is a baby mauve lilac colour. It is the first lipgelee I have bought and I really like it. It’s not as pigmented as it looks in the tube which makes it a nice gloss for everyday use. It’s really glossy and shiny but doesn’t seem to be as sticky as some glosses can be.  I would recommend this to anyone that’s looking for a nice nude gloss.

And finally, I also got some badly needed Brush Cleanser!

IMGP2845
Now for the swatches:

Club eyeshadow, Rapidblack Penultimate Eyeliner, Lilacrush Lipgelee
Bottom, L-R: Perfect Topping MSF, Blush Of Youth Beauty Powder, Summer Rose Beauty Powder

Fyrinnae: What I ordered

Fyrinnae cosmetics are a vegan cosmetic company who have a wide range of pretty unique colours. I had been wanting to try Fyrinnae eyeshadows for quite some time so finally bit the bullet and placed an order! Along with the 6 eyeshadow samples I ordered, I also ordered a full size foundation (they don’t offer samples of this) and a small lip lustre. They also included a free sample of eyeshadow, yay for freebies! :D

First: OMGWTF Eyeshadow Sample

IMGP2722
This is a bright, shimmery chartruese colour. Love the colour but do wish it was slightly more pigmented.

Next: Dragonskin Eyeshadow Sample

IMGP2723
Dragonskin is a deep, vibrant, shimmery grass green colour with a hint of yellow. Really nice, I love it.

Next: Aztec Gold Eyeshadow Sample

IMGP2724
Antique gold colour, that can look quite green in different lighting. Might end up buying the full size of this!

Next: Fujiro Free Sample

IMGP2725
This is like a medium blue-violet colour with silver sparkles. It has a lavendar highlight. It doesn’t seem very pigmented to me, which is a shame because it’s quite a nice colour.

Next: Parental Advisory Sample

IMGP2729
This is a shimmery royal purple. Really nice but I do wish it was a little brighter.

Next: Wicked Sample

IMGP2730
This is a deep, dark purple that has a turquoise shimmer. I heard this makes a stunning eyeliner so I’m looking forward to using it as that. Such a gorgeous colour..

And the final eyeshadow: Lust Bunnies Sample

IMGP2731
This is a vivid sparkling copper with silver glitter. Very pretty!

Now onto the foundation: Moonstone Mica-free Foundation - 6gram Size

IMGP2721
I still have not tried this yet. It is for very fair skin and I’m thinking it could possibly be a bit too light. But we shall see!

And lastly, the lip lustre: Ryunome

IMGP2732
This is A LOT brighter than it appears in this photo. It’s a gorgeous vibrant, shimmering turquoise. How cool is this? It’s actually the small, 3.5ml size which Fyrinnae no longer offer.. So if you want this you’ll have to buy the larger size!

Swatches time!

Top row, L-R: OMGWTF, Dragonskin, Aztec Gold, Fujiro
Bottom row, L-R: Parental Advisory, Wicked, Lust Bunnies

Silk Naturals Review and Basic FOTD

Silk Naturals was recently suggested to me by Vanessa when I posted a blog asking about different Mineral Foundations.

My order took about a week to arrive which I thought was pretty good considering I live in little old New Zealand! And all up it cost me around $31 NZD (or $15.49 USD) for 7 samples including the Perfect Harmony Foundation Sample Kit. To me, this is a little on the expensive side but is somewhat worth it.

Anyway, this is what I ordered:
Perfect Harmony Foundation Sample Kit

IMGP2716
IMGP2717
IMGP2718
This kit is $3.95 USD and consists of

  • 1 teaspoon of the Original Ivory Foundation
  • 1/2 teaspoon of each of the base colors- ebony, warm gold, olive, and buttery gold
  • an empty 10 gram jar for mixing
  • 1 measuring scoop so you can repeat your recipe
  • 1 flocked sponge
  • a full instruction sheet- complete with recipes to get you started

I had so much fun mixing my foundation. The colour I ended up with is 1 scoop Ebony to 8 scoops Ivory and this seems to be a pretty good match for me. In the FOTD below (which I did the day after I got this, sorry it’s kinda old!), I’m wearing it. Since then, I’ve discovered that I like this foundation more if I apply a few more layers. It’s all about experimentation!

The foundation I mixed:

IMGP2720
With this I actually got a tiny little free sample of Destination Eye Shadow, which is a sheer chocolate shimmer. It’s supposed to be a dupe of Smashbox’s Muse Palette, but I don’t own this so I can’t confirm whether it’s a good dupe or not. I used it in the crease in my FOTD and quite liked it.

IMGP2710

Swatch:

IMGP2712
Next: Climax Blush $1.25 USD

IMGP2687
I really love the colour of this blush. It is meant to be a dupe for NARS Orgasm. I don’t own that (NARS products are unbelievably expensive over here) so I can’t comment on how good a dupe this is, but I really like the colour. I’m wearing it in my FOTD below. I didn’t like that this didn’t come with a sifter like it was meant to, as during transit this spilt everywhere. :(

Swatch:

Climax

Next, Lovelace Blush $1.25 USD

IMGP2691
This is like the darker shade up from Climax and is meant to be a dupe for NARS Deepthroat (again I can’t comment on this). It is more pigmented than Climax which I really like. I will probably end up buying the full size of both of these.

Swatch:

lovelace

Next, Cupid Mineral Glow $1.25 USD

IMGP2700
Cupid is meant to be a dupe for MAC’s Northern Lights MSF. It is actually a nice pink with hints of bronze and gold. These are very concentrated so a little goes a long way and it looks amazing as both a blush and a highlighter.

Swatch:

IMGP2706
Next: Halo Mineral Glow $1.25 USD

IMGP2704
This is the only mineral glow/blush that came with a sifter (had to remove it so you could see the product more clearly). This is their clone of the MAC New Vegas MSF and from what I’ve heard it’s a pretty good dupe! I love the colour of this, gorgeous gold with hints of bronze.

Swatch:

Halo
Next on the list is the Sleep In A Jar Concealer $0.99 USD

IMGP2708
To be honest I don’t really think this is anything special, it didn’t seem to neutralise my under eye circles as much as I’d hoped it would. And applying more of it didn’t seem to help either… I used it in my FOTD so you can see for yourself, but I don’t think I will be buying the full size of this anytime soon.

Next: Perfecting Powder $0.99 USD

IMGP2709
This is a colourless powder that doesn’t have any shimmer. I LOVE this. It really provided a great finish to the foundation, minimised the look of pores and gave me that whole ‘oil-free look’ all day. I will definitely be buying the full size of this and recommend this to everyone.

Now along with all this I received a free sample of Pink Twink Eyeshadow

IMGP2681
This is a really nice champagne pink kinda colour. Quite nice if you’re going for a neutral look (demonstrated in my FOTD below)paired with the Destination eyeshadow. I actually can’t find this colour on their site so maybe it’s not available anymore.. I’m not sure.

Swatch:

IMGP2685

And lastly: Free Sample of Maiden Kisser Slicker

IMGP2711

I don’t have that much to say about this to be honest. Kinda boring colour, but feels nice and moisturising. Not much colour payoff though..

Swatch:

IMGP2713
And now the FOTD, Sorry I know it’s boring, but I thought I’d try out as many as the products as I could at once so you could get an idea of what they’re like! And unfortunately all the colours I have are on the neutral side so… yeah. Here ya go, hopefully it gives you an idea of what the products are like on!

SilkNaturals
SilkNaturals2650
SilkNaturals2654
With Flash:

SilkNaturals2665
So I used:
Eyes:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Silk Naturals Pink Twink all over lid up to the crease
  • Silk Naturals Destination in the outside corner, worked into the crease and underneath the eye
  • Wendy Hill (LOL) Ivory colour as highlight
  • Avon Supershock Mascara

Face:

  • Silk Naturals Foundation
  • Silk Naturals Sleep In A Jar under the eyes
  • Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder
  • Silk Naturals Climax Blush
  • Silk Naturals Cupid as a highlighter

Lips:

  • Silk Naturals Kisser Slicker in Maiden

Thanks for viewing and I hope this has been helpful!
